Baha Mar, Nassau
Why the Bahamas

A complete kosher ecosystem.

No other Caribbean destination offers this level of kosher infrastructure. Baha Mar hosts Cinkō Asian Latino Grill — the Caribbean’s first fully certified kosher restaurant — alongside the Knosh kosher food truck, an eruv, Shabbos candle tables, and a Jewish center with shul and mikveh. Chabad Nassau serves the island year-round.

Questions, answered.

Is the Bahamas the best Caribbean island for kosher travelers?

For infrastructure, yes — Baha Mar has more certified kosher infrastructure than anywhere else in the Caribbean: a certified restaurant, a kosher food truck, an eruv, and Shabbos services on property.

Do I need to book kosher dining in advance?

Yes. Cinkō’s Friday-night seatings fill weeks out in season. We handle all pre-booking for every client.

Which Baha Mar hotel should I choose?

Grand Hyatt is closest to the kosher dining; Rosewood is the highest service tier. We’ll match the property to how your family travels.

When is the best time to go?

December–April is peak; Yeshiva Week in late January is the busiest week of the year. May–June offers excellent value with the same infrastructure.

Is there a kosher restaurant in the Bahamas?

Yes. Cinkō Asian Latino Grill at Baha Mar is the Caribbean’s first fully certified kosher restaurant, and the Knosh kosher food truck serves breakfast and lunch near the beach. Both are on the Baha Mar property in Nassau. Friday-night seatings at Cinkō fill weeks ahead in season.

Is there an eruv in the Bahamas?

Yes, at Baha Mar. The eruv covers most of Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, with door magnets available for Shabbos. It does not extend to the beach or the boardwalk — plan Shabbos afternoon with that in mind.

Can you keep Shabbos properly at Baha Mar?

Yes — this is the easiest Shabbos in the Caribbean. There is a shul and Jewish center on property, Shabbos services, candle-lighting tables, the eruv, and Cinkō for Friday night and Shabbos meals. Chabad Nassau serves the island year-round.

Is there a Chabad and a mikveh in Nassau?

Chabad Nassau serves the island year-round, and Baha Mar’s Jewish center includes a shul and a mikveh — both inside the resort complex.

Is the Bahamas the right choice for a private villa week?

Usually not — and that is the point of the Bahamas. Its strength is infrastructure inside one large resort complex: the restaurant, the eruv, the shul. If your family wants a private villa with your own kitchen and quiet beaches, Turks & Caicos or Anguilla are the better fit, and we will say so. The Ocean Club on Paradise Island is the Bahamas’ quieter, kosher-friendly option — it sits away from Baha Mar’s kosher dining, so meals there are arranged in advance rather than walked to.

Do you plan Yeshiva Week and midwinter vacation trips to the Bahamas?

Yes. Yeshiva Week — also called midwinter vacation, midwinter break or simply winter break — falls in late January and is the busiest kosher week of the year in Nassau. Rooms at Baha Mar go early for that window, so we hold them well ahead. Tell us your school’s dates and we plan around them.

Can you arrange a kosher private chef in the Bahamas?

Most families eat at Cinkō, the glatt kosher restaurant inside the Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar. If you’re staying in a villa or residence and want a private chef who cooks kosher, we can arrange that too. Tell us how you hold (glatt, cholov yisroel, pas yisroel, the hechsher you rely on) and we’ll tell you exactly what it takes.

Can you arrange kosher meals delivered to us in the Bahamas?

Yes. We can arrange kosher meals delivered to your room or villa in the Bahamas, planned around your dates so the food is there when you need it. Tell us how you hold (glatt, cholov yisroel, pas yisroel, the hechsher you rely on) and we’ll plan it around that.

Can you have kosher provisions waiting when we arrive in the Bahamas?

Yes. Send us your list and we arrange kosher groceries and provisions to be waiting in your room or villa in the Bahamas when you arrive. Tell us how you hold (glatt, cholov yisroel, pas yisroel, the hechsher you rely on) and we’ll plan it around that.

Can you find a place to stay near a minyan or Chabad in the Bahamas?

Where there is a minyan or Chabad nearby, we find the villa or room within walking distance for Shabbos. Where there isn’t, we tell you before you book and plan the week around it.

Can you arrange a Shabbos-friendly villa or room in the Bahamas?

Yes. Before you book we check the details that matter for Shabbos in the Bahamas: key cards and door locks, motion-sensor lights, automatic doors, elevators and stairs, and the distance to anywhere you need to walk. Whatever can be arranged with the property ahead of time, we arrange.

Can you plan a bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah or family simcha trip in the Bahamas?

Yes. We plan the whole trip in the Bahamas: rooms or villas for the family, kosher catering for the meals and the simcha itself, and the Shabbos and travel timing around it. Tell us how you hold (glatt, cholov yisroel, pas yisroel, the hechsher you rely on) and we’ll plan it around that.
