Open the offersThe Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage stretch of the Sorrentine Peninsula south of Naples, where Positano, Amalfi and Ravello stack up the cliffs above the Tyrrhenian Sea. Access is by car or ferry from Naples (about 74 km to Amalfi), and the best-known walk, the Path of the Gods, runs about 7.8 km from Bomerano to Nocelle above Positano.
About 7.8 km, 3 to 4 hours at height with continuous sea views, ending with 1,500-plus steps down to Positano; go early in summer.
Circumnavigate the island with your own captain, sail between the Faraglioni and swim; smaller grottoes avoid the Blue Grotto queue.
Annual summer music festival in the villa gardens that inspired Wagner.
Rowboat entry into the emerald-lit cave 4 km west of Amalfi.
Stone belvedere framed by cypress and Roman busts, a 15-minute walk from Ravello’s centre.
The cathedral of Sant’Andrea was the symbol of the maritime republic’s power; the cloister is beside it.
The coast’s hotel and restaurant tableware is made here; tradition dates to the 17th century.
Tiny beach inside a rocky inlet under the coast-road bridge; the village above is an open-air gallery of murals.
The 52-room former Capuchin convent has a pool carved directly into the cliff face.
The 11th-century palace hotel includes a boat excursion for guests and has an infinity pool above the coast.
