Chileno Bay

A Sky Villa over the cove.

Chileno Bay sits on one of the few swimmable beaches in Los Cabos, with coral reefs, tropical fish and sea turtles a short way out. Oceanfront Rooms run 760 to 885 square feet with a terrace over the sea, and some rooms have plunge pools.

For a big family, the Sky Villas run three to five bedrooms, including the Four Bedroom Signature Sky Villa, and carry a $250 credit through us. COMAL and YAYA are the restaurants; whales pass between November and April.

Montage Los Cabos

Casas, Paintbox and the bay.

Thirty-nine acres on Santa Maria Bay with walk-in swimming, diving and snorkeling, three pools, Spa Montage, tennis and pickleball. It is the only resort in Los Cabos with an on-site diving center.

Families book Marea one- and two-bedroom suites with private pools, three-bedroom Residences, or Casa Twin Dolphin (four bedrooms) and Casa Cardon (five), where breakfast is included for every guest. Paintbox is Montage’s children’s program.

Both have swimmable water off their own beach, which is rare on this coast, and both have villas big enough for three generations. Los Cabos International (SJD) is the airport for both.

You pay the hotel’s own rate. At Chileno Bay we add an upgrade when available, a $45 per person daily breakfast credit for two per bedroom, a $100 resort credit ($250 in two-bedroom villas and larger) and early check-in or late check-out.

At Montage: an $80 daily breakfast credit per bedroom, a $100 resort credit, an upgrade when available on rooms and suites, and early check-in or late check-out. Casas add roundtrip private airport transfers; Specialty Suites a one-way transfer.

Which is better for a multi-generation group or older kids?

Both have room. Montage has Paintbox, three pools, three-bedroom Residences and two Casas of four and five bedrooms with breakfast included for every guest. Chileno Bay has Sky Villas from three to five bedrooms, with a $250 credit through us.

Which is better for couples?

Chileno Bay, for an Oceanfront Room of 760 to 885 square feet with a terrace over the cove. At Montage, the Baja Beach Front One Bedroom Suite and the Marea suites have their own pools.

How do they differ?

Chileno Bay is 142 rooms, suites and villas on a protected cove about 15 miles from SJD. Montage is 122 rooms and suites plus 52 Residences on 39 acres of Santa Maria Bay, with a children’s program and an on-site diving center.

Is the rate the same as booking direct?

Yes. The nightly rate is the hotel’s own best available rate. Booked through us, each adds a breakfast credit, a resort credit, an upgrade when available and early check-in or late check-out, confirmed in writing.

Do I pay you or the hotel?

You pay the hotel directly. We confirm availability and the rate, attach the extras in writing and hold the room.
